Look Over Here

The blog has migrated to tumblr! It's both sad (hey, Blogger's where I had my start) and awesome. The new blog is actually integrated into my website, so there isn't anyplace else you need to go to see updates.

To see what I've been up to these past few weeks, please visit the updates page on lydianichols.com Or, if you're on tumblr as well, find the blog and follow it here.

As always, thanks for reading!

New Shop

After using Etsy for a long time, I've decided to move my shop to Big Cartel for its ease, flexibility, and better aesthetics. Let's hope it treats me well! Though I'm still updating and adding, I wanted to let you know about it. Spring postcards are in stock and now is the perfect time for mailing someone a little spring "hullo," so please swing by and check it out.

Happy spring!

SOK / Bayou Country

SOK / bayou country

I was asked by the Society of Killustrators to contribute to their third 'assignment'–a new interpretation of the album art for Creedence Clearwatere Revival's, Bayou Country. I tried to stick with something simple and folksy (what says 'folk' better then birds and guitars??) Hope you enjoy.

works in progress

It's been a while since I've posted anything, because I've been so ridiculously busy lately. There are a few really fun projects in the works including the snippets you see above (posted here and here on Dribbble). The top one–the runner–is further along than the lumberjack below it, but both are just pieces of a larger whole.

Yesterday I was super excited to discover that my work had been featured on the Drawn blog. I've been reading Drawn for many years, so this was truly an honor!

In other news, this fall I'll be moving to the mid-Atlantic in pursuit of an MFA. It's been quite an adventure applying, interviewing, and deciding which school to attend (i.e. holy moly, I'm so glad it's nearly over). More on that later, but I'll remain available for fun freelance projects, so never hesitate to send an e.mail my way.

Happy Saturday.

Just wrapped up this map for the travel magazine, GO. If you find yourself in Orlando, this might be helpful!
