ride on

a little something inspired by great weather and the general awesomeness of bikes. i really tried to push the level of detail, switch up my color palette, and definitely include multiple figures. it seems a little stiff–definitely not my favorite piece–but it was a good learning experience and there are certain things i'm really digging. and, if there's one thing i've really come to understand, it's that sometimes you just need to move on. appreciate the process and keep on keepin' on.

i'm still hard at work in the studio, enjoy and grateful for my (temporary) freedom. it raises some interesting questions as to what the next steps in life are: going full-time freelance? grad school? (yes!) artist rep? figuring it all out! i've been lucky to be in touch with some really amazing illustrators and artists recently, but i'm still trying to find my place.

one last thing: congratulations to kathryn! winner of the run cowboy print. some other participants forgot to leave their e.mails, but if you commented on the run cowboy post and send me an e.mail with your mailing address, i'll send you a postcard. also: you can pick up your own print (a mere $10 for high quality printing!) or set of postcards in the etsy shop.

happy friday, internet friends.
